AAI Committees

AAI committees carry out a variety of activities that provide guidance and support for a wide range of initiatives including planning the AAI Annual Meeting; AAI training and career development programs; selection and presentation of a wide range of professional achievement and career development Awards, including the AAI Public Service Award; public education and public affairs/federal advocacy activities; recruiting new members and assessing the needs of existing members; and oversight of policies pertinent to AAI publications The Journal of Immunology and ImmunoHorizons.

Members may volunteer for appointment to one or more of AAI’s committees listed below, each linked to information about the committee’s charge and activities.

The APCC is responsible for
identifying, evaluating, and advancing legislative and science policy issues that impact or are impacted by immunology; developing AAI’s annual Advocacy Agenda; providing recommendations and guidance to the AAI Council; developing messaging and policy-oriented public statements to convey the views of AAI.

The AMCC assesses and oversees the scientific program at the AAI Annual Meeting; serves as a scientific resource for the AAI staff and the AAI Annual Meeting (e.g., via annual review of meeting metrics, composition, attendee feedback); regularly assesses the scientific structure of the AAI Annual Meeting to ensure that the meeting remains fresh and relevant, and continues to serve the needs of the immunology community as those needs evolve.
